About HLMI

Founded in 1989 by Dr. William O. Ouma, HLMI is a faith-based, non-profit organization focused on reconciling and transforming communities through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We empower marginalized groups, promote spiritual growth, and address critical issues like poverty, health, education, and justice. Operating in over 8 nations, HLMI collaborates with international agencies and governments to ensure sustainable, impactful service delivery.

HLMI fosters spiritual growth, unity, and empowerment through discipleship, and community outreach.

Our Founder

Dr. William O. Ouma

Dr. William O. Ouma, born in Busia, Kenya, overcame a life of illness and poverty through faith and divine healing. After receiving Jesus in 1978, he was called to serve, and in 1983, the infilling of the Holy Spirit transformed his life and ministry. Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ is absolutely essential.

5. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved to eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

7. We believe in the church of Jesus Christ and in the unity of believers.

8. We believe in the practical application of the Christian faith in everyday experience and in the need to minister to people in every area of life, which includes not only the spiritual but also the social, political and physical.
